Deezer has launched a free online tool that lets users import playlists from 20 popular streaming platforms and scan them for AI-generated music. The detector supports 27 languages and works with services including Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, and YouTube Music. Deezer already removes detected AI tracks from recommendations and editorial playlists, while rivals have generally emphasized tagging. The company is also offering its detection technology to other platforms. Detection systems can produce false positives and will face increasingly capable generators, but the launch makes synthetic-media provenance a consumer-facing product rather than only an internal moderation process. It also gives the music industry another practical tool for addressing fraud and disclosure.
