Google's I/O 2026 Gemini package is bigger than a chatbot refresh. Google says Gemini Spark is a 24/7 personal AI agent that runs on Gemini 3.5 and the Antigravity platform, works in the background, and checks with users before major actions. Daily Brief rolls out to U.S. Google AI subscribers with connected Google apps, using inbox, calendar, and task context to organize the day and suggest next steps. The Gemini app also gets a redesigned Neural Expressive interface, while Gemini Omni brings a more unified multimodal video model into Google Flow and YouTube Shorts for subscribers. TechCrunch notes the Gemini app has more than 900M monthly users across 230+ countries and 70+ languages, which gives Google unusual distribution for agent features. The watch item is trust: background agents inside Gmail, Docs, Keep, Search, and Android will need clear permissions, memory controls, and failure recovery.
