Meta has signed its first AI data-center agreement in India, partnering with Reliance Industries on a planned 168-megawatt facility in Jamnagar, Gujarat. Meta will lease capacity while Reliance provides design, construction, renewable power, connectivity, and operations. The companies say the facility will use renewable energy and desalinated seawater for cooling, and Reliance expects it to be ready within two years. The deal extends a relationship that includes Meta's $5.7 billion investment in Jio Platforms and a $100 million enterprise-AI joint venture. It also makes India a more direct part of Meta's global AI infrastructure network.
