OpenAI and AWS are turning enterprise procurement into a distribution channel for frontier models. OpenAI said its frontier models and Codex are generally available on AWS, including through Amazon Bedrock and Codex on Amazon Bedrock, in both Commercial and GovCloud regions. The pitch is straightforward: customers can use OpenAI capabilities while keeping familiar AWS controls for security, governance, billing, compliance, and deployment. OpenAI named Amgen and Autodesk as customers evaluating the path for scientific and design workflows. The company also said future AWS availability will include Daybreak, its software-security and cyberdefense direction covering secure code review, threat modeling, patch validation, dependency-risk analysis, and remediation guidance. This is a notable platform story because the leading labs are increasingly competing on where models can be governed and bought, not only on model scores.
